oldies

So my new Ratatouille and Surf's Up books came in the mail today! I must say both movies look excellent. The artwork is amazing for both. I was oohing and ahhing over all the production art and became inspired to upload some stuff of my own. I dug through my sketchbooks and found a handful of drawings that I really like. I'm too lazy to really clean them up in photoshop, perhaps later on. I just cropped and adjusted them for the most part; quick and dirty. Most are sketches from field trips to the zoo and Natural History Museum, and pre-production sketches for my 'toon. The sea lions I drew over the weekend, while having coffee with Mike. I just felt like drawing sea lions I guess.

not in a paper writing mood

So, the long weekend has come to an end. It was a good few days though. I saw Pirates 3 with all my friends. I loved it, very fun and action packed. I finished work about an hour ago. Here's an old doodle I did a few months ago. Sometimes being a barista isn't as much fun as you think. The people that come into my shop are overall very rude and pushy. Sometimes I just wanna give them a ton of sass!! But they don't pay me to be a jerk, so I'll just draw myself rolling my eyes at their needy coffee requests.

Trees

Hooray for finished films! Onto typing papers. I thought I'd post some trees I made back in my pre-production days for my film. They were inspired by Eyvind Earle's spectacular paintings. I wish his art books weren't so dang expensive. I'd love to own one. Happy Memorial Day!

wee!!

So the film is more or less done, methinks. A little sound effects here, and some musical stuff there and then I will call out into the streets "THAT'S A WRAP!!" Here are some jumping critters for ya.

getting annoyed

i'm happy to say that i'm done animating and coloring. ahh, now the arduous task of the post production begins. i've just spent over 4 hours going back and looking at and tweaking my earlier scenes and the animation (as it usually does with student films) is very "blah" in the beginning. my ending act is much better compared to the earlier stuff. c'est la vie. i'm compelled to reanimate the whole thing, but there's that little issue of time. it's a student film, so we'll just leave it at that. i need to eat.
enjoy the yeti.

figgity

in an effort to keep at my blogging, i decided to take a break from the film and call it a night. so before i closed my project in flash i began to doodle. i came up with an accurate pic of me stressing about money of course. one phrase i mutter several times a year is "will that affect my financial aid?" school's expensive and i need all the dough i can get! i was offered to be a TA for a class next year and found out i will be paid. immediately i wondered if my financial aid would be affected in any way, thus it was the inspiration for this post. if you know me well enough, you'll find this funny. if not, well i'm sure you'll think i'm crazy.

Scream

Hello folks! Another late and not-very-exciting post for you all. Still plugging away at the olde filme. Time's a-tickin'. It's due June 6th!! I'm almost done with the animation and coloring though, so I'm pretty excited. Today we had our midterm and I think the feedback was pretty encouraging. Always nice to know people enjoy your work.
