My friend Shane's wife decorated this little sketch book and I fortunately received one for Christmas. It's a Moleskin so the paper quality is really nice and it's small enough for me to keep in my purse at all times. I try to draw in it when going out for coffee or to eat with friends. Last week I drew some cute bunnies and other random stuff while getting Starbucks with Traci, Erik and Andrew. I need to get an actual larger Moleskin and start drawing more often. I find, better the paper quality, the better quality of the drawings.
Friday I was hanging with David and he started plinking around on his keyboard, which turned into him playing movie scores, which turned into me asking him to play ridiculous themes like from Mrs. Doubtfire (a guilty pleasure). And as he played I thought: this reminds me of Schroeder and Lucy. So I decided to Peanutify us and here it is.
So my new Ratatouille and Surf's Up books came in the mail today! I must say both movies look excellent. The artwork is amazing for both. I was oohing and ahhing over all the production art and became inspired to upload some stuff of my own. I dug through my sketchbooks and found a handful of drawings that I really like. I'm too lazy to really clean them up in photoshop, perhaps later on. I just cropped and adjusted them for the most part; quick and dirty. Most are sketches from field trips to the zoo and Natural History Museum, and pre-production sketches for my 'toon. The sea lions I drew over the weekend, while having coffee with Mike. I just felt like drawing sea lions I guess.
