Rainy Sunday

I created my first business card today for my earrings. I decided to call em Teenie Tines, cuz they're so little. In fact, I made my smallest creation yet, 2 wee sheep smaller than a quarter. How I did it, I haven't a clue, I just got in the zone. I'm reluctant to sell them, because they're so darn cute, but I think I won't have a problem actually having someone purchase them.
I've started to glaze a few things, just to see how it looks. I do like the matte finish but some things just look better glazed and I think it'll protect the clay and the delicate parts.

Here's the background of my business card that I whipped up today. I used Vistaprint and it was relatively inexpensive. It's the shipping that gets ya!!

Used Frankie as my logo-ish thing. I added the text on vistaprint.

Wee sheep

Some teenie weenies and an owl. I'll be selling these guys too.

I adopted a Rhino!

I read some very disturbing news the other day, how Western Black Rhinos are now officially extinct. This made me absolutely sick and I wanted to do something about it. So I googled some wildlife adoption sites and after comparing WWF to this other one called AWF, I opted for AWF. WWF has a reputation for being shady, and I definitely wanted my money to go help a cause, not disappear to nowhere.

So I found out I could adopt an orphaned rhino named Jabari for 35 dollars. I wish I could donate millions of dollars to help animals. I hate the thought of growing up and witnessing animals going extinct, it's so horrifying. And it's real!! This isn't a movie. I can't even imagine what's next.

Regardless of the state of affairs, it felt good to do my teeny tiny part.

What's Going On?

I've found that I've been blogging more often, I guess I have more to say? Either way here's some new additions to my little jewelry collection. I'm going to try to test the waters at work and see if I can manage to sell some of them. I'd like to sell them at DreamWorks Holiday Craft Fair, but I'm not even sure if they're having one this year.

That's A Wrap (Kitty Edition)

I took Traci to the Premiere

My last "That's A Wrap" was for my beloved How To Train Your Dragon last year. I am proud to say that Puss in Boots has officially wrapped, giving me another feature under my belt and I'm pretty excited! We had our crew screening and wrap party last night and it was a smash! Great movie, great laughs, great drinks.

Puss opens on October 28, so make sure you go see it!

o hai

Where to begin. Let's see. After Layout ended, I did a stint in a *super fun* department called Lustre to help wrap Puss in Boots (which comes out Oct. 28, go see it). Lustre is basically the color timing of the whole film and you work laaaate hours in a dark room for days, weekends, holidays on end. Good times!!
When I was between taking notes, I would draw in my sketchbook, and draw I did. Here's a smattering of stuff.
Animals from the animal blog I mentioned before.

Some sketches of Puss.

Sketches of some raccoons and my dog sleeping on the foot of our coffee table. Hard to tell.

More critters from the animal blog and Kitty Softpaws.

Also, I FINALLY took my European vacation I've been pining for all my life. I visited Switzerland, Paris and London and definitely want to pack up and leave California but that will not be happening. I will leave my socio-political rantings for another time.

I took Puss with me as well, because he deserved a vacation as much as I did. We took in the sights together!
One day when I've stopped boycotting Facebook, I'll post my pictures. For now they're available on my Google+ account on Picasa. Hopefully that link works.

In Switzerland there are cows everywhere!!! And marmots are super popular too, although I didn't see any. Also, there are random cats that hang out in the fields, so I would see a handful while traveling on the trains. They must chase after the mice.

Back from Outer Space

I found this cool site called http://animalblog.me/ and it's full of great photos of animals. Yesterday I doodled a few and tucked em in my sketchbook, along with my own lil' critters.

Project

I am trying to channel my energy by diving into a jewelry project.
I've been making little critters out of Sculpey for years now but I never really did anything with them. In fact, I have an entire box of little Wiener Dogs sitting in my closet and I don't know what to do with them. Back in college I made Wiener Dogs for fun and called them Teenie Weenies but I never sold them or distributed them.

So now, I have been trying my hand at making earrings. I've made a few pairs recently and have been receiving tons of compliments so I must be doing something right!

Here's what I've done so far:
